Watching Australian music join together to celebrate another year of the best is enough to make anyone feel the love. The 2025 ARIA awards in Partnership with Spotify, held at the Hordern Pavilon in Sydney, are a spectacular blend of live performances and good energy, and looking back on what 2025 had to offer had us anticipating the highlights of the music scene this year.
Keli Holiday is the solo project of Peking Duk’s Adam Hyde, and he opened the night with a stunning and emotive performance of Dancing2. The track later won Best Video with Ryan Sauer.
In a huge move, Amyl and the Sniffers took home four wins with Album of the Year, Best Group, Best Rock Album and Best Cover Art.
Electronic music was well represented, Dom Dolla and Ninajirchi taking the night, Dom Dolla winning the ARIA for best Dance/Electronic Release, and later winning the ARIA Global Impact Award.
Ninajirichi was the lead nominee with 8 categories, and took home Best Solo Artist, Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist presented by Spotify, and Best Independent Release for album I Love My Computer.
Surprising no one, Most Popular International Artist was won by Taylor Swift.
Key live performances included Keli Holiday for Dancing2, Thelma Plum, Missy Higgins, Olivia Dean performing Man I Need, Kit Alexander, and a live collaboration between all nominees for Best Soul/R&B Release: BOY SODA, Larissa Lambert, PANIA, Jerome Farah, and JACOTENE.
With nearly 700,000 votes cast across Spotify and the Aria Website, record breaking votes were tallied.
